Perspectives: A VLRC Podcast

Perspectives is Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada's podcast focusing on vision health in Canada, featuring authentic conversations with the people driving change. We will explore the ideas, innovations and the people influencing vision health across the country. Our first season teams up with the Vision Health Partners Coalition to analyze the National Strategy for Eye Care, dedicating each episode to themes like prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, community, and research. Each season presents new voices and topics.

Meet the hosts

Jennifer Urosevic
Jennifer has spent more than 25 years leading various aspects of vision rehabilitation services, and has presented globally on a variety of topics including early skills in orientation and mobility, accessibility of the built environment, and pathways to vision rehabilitation. As President & CEO, she develops and oversees the execution of VLRC’s strategic and operational plans and corporate objectives across all sites and develops plans to achieve growth and opportunities for additional funding and expansion. She is passionate about driving an organizational culture of staff wellbeing, service excellence and commitment to the delivery of the highest quality of programs for blind and partially sighted clients served by the organization. Jennifer’s commitment to client-centred care has led VLRC to develop various integrated care models and services so that Canadians with vision loss can live the life they choose. Currently, Jennifer is the Chair of the Vision Health Partners’ Coalition.

Christopher McLean
Christopher ensures Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada’s health care services run efficiently, delivering high-quality service to our clients. Before taking on this role, Christopher previously served as the VP of Service Quality and Health Standards at VLRC. He joined us in 2018 after 15 years with CNIB, where he held progressive roles in philanthropy, government relations, and rehabilitation service management. He is the former Board Chair of Halton Family Services. Christopher supports local arts and culture events and loves exploring main streets to find bookstores and bargains on vinyl records.
Josie McGee
Josie is the executive lead for government relations, business development, and the growth of Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada. She is an occupational therapist with more than 20 years of previous health care and business development experience. Before joining the team in 2019, she served as National Director, Health Care Innovation at CBI Health Group. As a senior business development executive and Certified Lean Six Sigma professional, Josie has developed innovative health care models. Outside of work, Josie truly treasures spending quality time with her family and her beloved dog. She also enjoys cooking, travelling, and reading.

Angelina Algranti
Angelina is responsible for the People and Culture team for Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada’s to drive our organization towards our strategic goals. Before joining the team in 2023, she held the Director, People and Culture at CNIB. Outside of work, Angelina loves staying active by walking around 13,000 steps each day. She's also passionate about reading and usually finishes at least one book every month.
