National Board and Committees

Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada's National Board of Directors is comprised of industry leaders in a variety of fields across Canada's diverse geography including health care and education, dedicated to supporting the new VLR brand launched by CNIB in 2017 to help Canadians better understand and access these essential health care services.

Board Committees

Four committees work diligently in supporting the VLRC Board:

  1. Governance Committee

This committee monitors and advises the Board on policies and processes related to board governance. This includes review board recruitment, nomination, succession planning, orientation, development, committee and CEO evaluation, and bylaws.

  1. Finance, Risk Management and Audit Committee

This committee monitors and advises the Board on the strategic allocation of the organization’s financial resources, financial reporting, and represents the organization in matters related to pension plans.

  1. Service Quality Committee

This committee monitors and advises the Board on the organization’s vision loss rehabilitation services, including clients served, waitlists, and quality of care.

  1. People and Culture Committee

This committee monitors and advises the Board on recruitment, retention, the CEO evaluation process, succession planning, and organizational culture.
